She feels energised by Unilever’s commitment to sustainable living. This ethos has challenged everyone to develop new business models, transform brands and portfolios to meet future needs and harness technology so that the organisation can anticipate and respond quickly and appropriately to the significant changes shaping industry. With a wealth of positive stories to tell, the role of her department is primarily to build and enhance trust and reputation.
Prior to joining Unilever, Shobna was at South African Breweries (now ABInBev) for 12 years, exiting as the Country Director for Corporate Affairs and spending eight years’ in higher education management after starting her career in retail property management. Her ongoing journey of learning has included an MBA – on scholarship – and leadership courses at Cambridge University in the UK and Spelman College in the USA.
