
Bobbi Silten
Bobbi Silten is the Managing Director of the Shared Value Initiative, a global community of leaders who find business solutions for societal challenges and work to build smarter models to address the changing needs of our communities, the environment, and business. She is the co-editor of the Purpose Playbook, a guide to help business leaders put purpose into practice with shared value.
Bobbi has been a long-time practitioner of leading social change through business, and she brings deep experience as a purpose-driven leader with over three decades of corporate experience. Previously, Bobbi spent 12 years at Gap Inc. where her last position was EVP, Global Talent & Sustainability. She also oversaw the Gap Foundation. Prior to joining Gap Inc., Bobbi spent a decade at Levi Strauss & Co., with her last five years as President of Dockers U.S. Bobbi began her career in advertising and was with Foote, Cone & Belding/SF for 11 years.
Bobbi co-founded and chaired Reimagining Service, a national cross-sector effort to increase the impact of volunteering in the U.S., and was a founding board member of the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety. In 2011, she was appointed by President Obama to serve on the White House Council for Community Solutions to create pathways for Opportunity Youth.
She has guest lectured on business and society at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown, Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and Columbia Business School.
Bobbi holds a degree in social science from UC Berkeley and lives in the San Francisco/Bay Area with her husband Peter and cat Oliver.
